Training Consultant - English for Education Systems
British Council, Uganda is looking for experienced English language teachers and teacher trainers to assist with our training programmes in Uganda. We are looking to create a group of freelance training consultants who can work for us on a part-time, ad hoc basis. Training consultants will help to support teachers working in rural and urban areas from primary and secondary schools.

Role overview
The role is more than just teacher training, it may include materials writing, conducting language assessments, classroom observations, participating in project planning meetings and collecting data for needs analysis or baseline and evaluation studies.
This is an exciting opportunity to get involved in some highly rewarding work, helping to support teachers all over Uganda.
Eligibility criteria
- Minimum 5 years primary/secondary school English teaching experience and minimum one year delivering teacher training/education.
- Minimum of grade 5 diploma specialising in English or recognised and externally assessed ELT qualification e.g. Cambridge Certificate in English Language Teaching for Adults (CELTA) or equivalent.
- Flexible and able to travel to different locations in Uganda and work in challenging contexts.
- Permission to work in Uganda
