The British Council, under the Leaders in Teaching (LIT) Programme, is seeking 10 highly qualified Lead Trainers to strengthen competency-based education delivery through inclusive, gender-responsive teacher training and continuous professional development (CPD). This initiative aims to transform secondary education across Africa by building the capacity of teachers and school leaders. We are seeking to recruit 10 highly qualified Lead Trainers to support this initiative.

Salary Daily rate: 150 GBP (10 days per year, approx)

Role overview

Lead Trainers will:

  • Deliver high-quality professional learning for trainers.
  • Validate trainer performance and provide developmental feedback.
  • Mentor trainers through digital platforms and in-person visits.
  • Uphold British Council values and create positive, inclusive learning environments.

How to apply

Eligibility

  • Resident in Uganda with full legal right to live and work.
  • Strong facilitation, assessment, and mentoring skills.
  • Ability to travel within the country for workshops and meetings.
  • Proficiency in English; knowledge of local languages is an advantage.

  2. Updated CV highlighting relevant experience.
  3. Statement of Motivation (max 1 page) explaining interest and alignment with objectives.
  4. Short Video Presentation (max 2 minutes) outlining your approach to training teachers in rural, under-resourced schools. Include the video link in your statement.
