Where can you take IELTS in Uganda?

We are pleased to announce that from 22 March 2026, all UKVI IELTS tests will be delivered on computer. In addition, from 21 June 2026, all IELTS tests will be delivered on computer, providing a faster, more efficient and streamlined testing experience.
UKVI IELTS and IELTS on computer offer the same test format, questions and scoring as the paper-based version. UKVI IELTS and IELTS on computer also provide significant benefits to test takers at no additional cost:
• Faster results: Typically receive your results in 1-2 day
• Faster booking: Book your test as late as one day before registration closes
• More test dates: More choice and flexibility for you
• One Skill Retake: Retake just one skill, not the whole test, if you need to improve your score

We offer a range of convenient test dates in one official IELTS test centre location in Kampala Uganda. You can choose to take your IELTS test on paper or on a computer. Whichever you prefer, you will need to come to a test centre to sit your test. Find out more

Test schedule / timings

Your Listening, Reading, and Writing sections of the test will be completed on the same day with no break in between. During the pandemic, we are running tests in the morning and in the afternoon. All sessions allow social distancing. Morning sessions are usually between 9.00 and 12.00. Afternoon sessions are usually between 13.00 and 16.00.

If you take IELTS on paper, your Speaking test will take place on a different day to the other sections of the test, in a 7-day window before or after the main test day. You will receive an email confirming your Speaking test date 48 hours in advance.

Choose your Speaking test slot

You can choose your Speaking test slot whether you take IELTS on a computer or on paper. If we need to change your slot due to the pandemic, we will notify you by email or phone.
